Sarnia Section President's Message

Hello Fellow Members;

Here we are in a new year with one member’s dinner under our belt and still two more to go till the end of our business year in June. We still have a lot of work to do but the work we have done so far is starting to pay off. We had a good turn out last dinner meeting. I am not sure it was the speaker or the phone campaign we started last fall, lets just say a little of both. Our speaker in March is just as interesting so make note of the date, March 29/10.

Our May meeting is for all members and guests so bring your wife or friends and enjoy a night of entertainment at prices lower then you can get any were else in the area. Just ask members that have attended the last few May meetings and you will hear how much fun it was to be there. We have an interesting topic coming up from our education chair. We have not worked out the details but it should help everyone’s career considering the topic that has been chosen.

The ISA golf tournament is coming, please make note of the date in the bulletin. Let’s get out and support this event, it is always a good time. We are also planning a summer event. Exactly what it is going to be has yet to be determined by the executive. These events are held to make your membership worth while and let us all feel like a
community. I think this is what has been lacking in our section. The executive is working hard to offer value for you hard earned money. We are starting to get input from members again on speakers and events that they want to see
happen. This information is valuable and helps us make decisions on the direction that the membership wants us to take our organization. We can not let the executive make all the decisions. This is a group effort, it is your section as much as it is the executive’s so keep the input coming, and it is always welcome.

Next month we are starting our membership drive. We did hit a few hurdles with this project, we are now close to coming up with a list of names to start calling with the help of Rebecca the campaign driver. She is doing an excellent job with the dinner meeting campaign, so I expect the same results from this campaign Thank you to all the other executive members for the continuing support. See you at the next dinner meeting. If you have any concerns or ideas, talk to me or any of the other executive and we will take action ASAP.
